Picture of the Day
| January 1, 2011 -- Dyrehaven, Copenhagen Denmark |
I also have a problem with uploading pictures. In my defense, I often stink at taking pictures, and even when I do have many, my internet connection can take forever to upload them (and in Italy, I had a data limit, so I couldn't be uploading hundreds of pictures). But I still have many pictures I want people to see.
So, my resolution -- upload one picture, every day, for the whole year. Brian mentioned the 365 project - taking a picture a day, but I don't yet trust myself to be that consistent to take and upload a picture daily. So, instead, the pictures will be from sometime over the course of the last two years. This will let me share some of my favorite pictures, and I can schedule posts ahead of time when I'm feeling especially productive.
So, check back daily, and those of you Stateside, nag me on Facebook if they aren't posted in the morning, that means I'm slacking :p
Oh, and this first picture, taken by the talented Rasmus, is from New Year's Day last year. I arrived in Copenhagen on December 31st in the afternoon. At midnight, we held hands while jumping off of chairs (and I got my first New Year's kiss), and then, after a glass of kids bubbly, we climbed up to the roof, and watched the fireworks light up the city all around. The next day, after sleeping in later than I think I ever have in my life, Susan, Rasmus' mom, drove us up to Dyrehaven (the animal garden), which is in fact stocked with deer and has a castle and even an amusement park :p, and we walked around, taking pictures, seeing how close we could get to the deer. It was a beautiful day, and a lovely view of the sea (it's a little hard to see in the picture, but it's back there!). It was a wonderful way to start a whirlwind year.
